AWESOME PERCHERON X THOROUGHBRED GELDING in LAMBS VALLEY, New South Wales for sale

"Meloford Park Excalibur" Percheron x thoroughbred gelding, brown bay, 15.2-16hh, 6 years old. By "Kamillaroi Regiment " out of 'Spirit' a quality Tb mare. Eligible registration PHBAA. Easy catch, shoe, float, no vices.
This lovely boy is stunning in looks, with lots of thick mane and tail hair, solid build, and really good hard hooves. His movement is surprisingly good for a half draught horse, and he has the most beautiful temperament. He is a genuinely honest natured horse, and is always consistent.
I have owned him since he was very young, I know him well and he is the most affectionate and beautiful horse you could wish for. He was used as a breeding stallion before being broken in, and gelded, to be used as a riding horse. He has two beautiful fillies on the ground - also for sale- and he has always been easy to manage as both a stallion and now as a gelding.
It is a very hard decision to make to let this boy go, he will be greatly missed, but sadly I no longer have the time to do him justice. With a young family keeping me busy, he is simply sitting in the paddock doing nothing. Which of course does him no harm, but I sincerely believe that he could be out there having fun with his new owner and acheiving great things.
Excalibur has been started (broken in) professionally and ridden out on the farm, on trails and around bushland. He is used to dogs, motorbikes, cattle, sheep, all the usual farm things, without a worry in the world. I believe that he would easily make the transition to a competitive horse as he is athletic, brave and calm with a 'can-do' type of nature. True to the percheron type.
He has all the basics established and is ready to go on with his new rider. With his stunning looks, I believe he would excel in the show ring. He is very trainable, would even make a good trick training horse as he loves people and is a fast learner, very curious and playful nature. He will be best suited to someone who has some riding experience in training young freshly broken in horses (no beginners please).
I have ridden him myself for a few weeks after his return from the trainer, and he was great for me, very soft mouthed, obedient, good brakes, and all important things established. He did not put a foot wrong. That was my first ride after being out of the saddle for 18 months so truly that is saying something about his quietness and good foundation training. Since then I turned him out (approx six months) and have not ridden him since, due to lack of time. I have no doubt that he will be easy to bring back into work, but realistically I simply do not have the time to ride like I used to, anymore.
For sale at well below his true value, and will only be sold to an approved home where he will be loved as much as I have loved him.
For sale "as is": in good, dappled, shiny spring paddock condition - $5000. Firm- not negotiable.

Booked in to go to a trainer in January to bring him back into work and do some further education under saddle. His price will increase as his training level increases.
